Privacy Policy

Yawmi ("My Day" in Arabic) is an Islamic growth companion app developed by Mohammed Chouri. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using Yawmi, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Most of your data never leaves your device. The following is stored in your browser's localStorage:

• Prayer tracking and completion status
• Dhikr counters and adhkar progress
• Habit tracking data
• App preferences and theme settings
• Device location coordinates (latitude/longitude) used solely for prayer time calculation

Information Stored in the Cloud

If you use social features (friend codes, leaderboard), the following is stored in Firebase Firestore:

• An anonymous user identifier (generated automatically by Firebase)
• Your 6-character friend code
• Your friends list (friend codes of connected users)
• Aggregated progress data shared with friends (prayer counts, habit streaks, points)

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Name, email address, or phone number
• Passwords or account credentials
• Contacts or address book data
• Photos, files, or media from your device
• Precise location data on our servers (coordinates remain on your device only)

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

• Prayer times: Your device location is used locally to calculate accurate prayer times. This data is not transmitted to any server.
• Progress tracking: Your prayer, dhikr, and habit data is stored on your device to show you streaks, heatmaps, and insights.
• Social features: Anonymous identifiers and friend codes enable the leaderboard and friend connections without revealing your identity.
• Subscription management: RevenueCat processes subscription purchases. We do not have access to your payment details.

3. Data Storage & Security

Local data is stored using your browser's localStorage mechanism and remains entirely on your device. Cloud data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.

Firebase Anonymous Authentication is used to create a session without requiring any personal credentials. No passwords are stored or managed by Yawmi.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

Yawmi integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google): Anonymous authentication and cloud data storage. Firebase Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Apple (App Store): App distribution and payment processing. Apple Privacy Policy

Yawmi does not currently display third-party advertisements.

5. Children's Privacy

Yawmi is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app uses anonymous authentication and does not require any personal information to function, minimal data is collected from any user regardless of age.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Delete local data: You can reset all locally stored data at any time through the app's Settings page using the Reset option.
• Delete your account: Open Profile, scroll to Danger zone, and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your Firebase account, cloud backups, profile, and associated social records, and clears data on this device. This option also works for anonymous accounts. Apple-linked accounts require confirmation with Apple and their Apple authorization is revoked.
• Opt out of social features: Social features are entirely optional. You can use Yawmi without connecting to Firebase or sharing any data with other users.
• Location access: You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. Prayer times can also be set by manually entering your city or coordinates.

No email or support request is required. You will see confirmation after deletion completes. A minimal deletion receipt containing the internal account identifier and deletion status is retained for up to 30 days, plus the database's automatic expiration processing time, to confirm completion and prevent stale sessions from restoring deleted data. It contains no profile, email, prayer history, or backup. Deleted public friend codes are reserved against reuse, without retaining a link to your identity. Deletion cannot remotely erase local copies on offline devices; use Reset This Device or remove the app on those devices to clear them.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Yawmi after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
